Normally we would never add new functionality to a year version, that is already released, but for Winprint we have made an exception this time.

A customer asked for the ability to set a Winprint printer to be the default output ‘queue’ in Auto Forms Control, and this functionality is now added in the new 2011M08x version.

On this screen you simply state ‘*WINPRINT’ as the default output queue like below:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Auto Forms Control Definition                         AFC302D

 Output queue . . . . . . :  AFC_INPUT1
   Library  . . . . . . . :    APF3812

Type choices and then press Enter. Press F3 or F12 to exit.
   Description  . . . . . . . .  Job for sample printout
   Autostart job  . . . . . . .  N                (Y N)
   Code page  . . . . . . . . .  *SYSVAL          Number, *SYSVAL      F4=List
When to use code page  . .  *SPLFATR         *SPLFATR, *ALWAYS

Default output output queue and printer type
   Output queue . . . . . . . .  *WINPRINT
     Windows PC . . . . .  KSE
Windows printer  . .  HP Color LaserJet 4700

Color support  . . .  *YES                   *NO, *YES
Optional template AFC-definition to be executed after this definition
   Template AFC-definition:
   Output queue . . . . . . . .
     Library  . . . . . . . . .

 F3=Exit      F4=Prompt          F10=Additional parameters   F12=Cancel
------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And then you simply use F4 to prompt for the Windows PC and windows printer.

Feel free to ask me if you want to hear more about WinPrint, and how it can print from InterForm400 onto any Windows PC connected printer.
