Do any of you guys have any manuals/documentation on IceBreak?

We have a client - new to IceBreak - looking for information. Is there any other information besides the tutorials, etc. on the IceBreak admin server?

Regards
Syd

Yes... and no! As stated previously somewhere I'm still working on the icebreakforum.org (*) website which should hold all documentation, examples and comments for both IceBreak core functionality, ILE RPG, %BIF's, HTTP Headers, some W3C standards and some of the great JavaScript, JavaScript Ajax and JavaScript UI API's out there. The problem, however, is that the AS/400 I currently have access to have an Internet connection that is too slow to be used for frequently accesssed content. Furthermore, there is no money in doing this website so it only progresses when I "feel like it".

One of the really nice features I have implemented in an alpha version is the ability to create "profiles" for a single username/password. For each profile you can specify which i5/OS version and IceBreak build you are using. The IceBreak core functions will then be 'red' (if that function is implemented in a later build or VRM), 'blue' (if it is supported in your setup from a previous build/VRM) or 'green' if it was implemented in the current build/VRM). This combined with color syntax highlighted ILE RPG examples makes it really sweet.

BUT... it still has a long way before being finished  I guess if IBM (or someone else) wanted to sponsor a brand new i5 (**) which could run IceBreak, Lotus Domino, PHP and Websphere alltogether I would be more entusiastic about evolving this site. It would be really nice to be able to actually do the documentation and give examples of how to do Ajax with IceBreak, integration to Lotus Domino, PHP and Websphere etc. It would also be nice to have additional "authors" or "admins" to update the site content, examples etc. As you already know one thing is creating a basic example for something; another thing is to do it and still support standards and be cross-browser and cross-platform... that is the goal with this site.

Not to my knowledge.

Well... although not a solutions to your problem, Syd, it was nice to have some of my inner thoughts out in "the open"

(*) Please keep in mind that I am not affiliated with the creators of IceBreak.
(**) Should probably be a min. 4 GB memory, min 70 GB disk etc.
