When using a TTF (True Type Font) or a barcode soft font in InterForm400 you might have a problem where it seems, that the auto download information does not seem to be used. When you have such a situation you should focus on the auto download setup in InterForm400. Generally you should have *ALLPCL for the output queues for the PCL printer group and for barcode soft fonts you should make sure, that you have activated the barcode for all code pages. For TTF support you can use the table below to find what ASCII code page to use for a specific EBCDIC code page:
Code page: PCL PDF 37 to 297 Codepage850 Western 420 Arab-864 Arabic 424 Hebrew 500 CodePage850 Western 838 Unicode Unicode 870 CodePage852 Central European 871 Codepage850 Western 875 ISO 8859/7 Greek 880 Cyrillic Cyrillic 1025 Cyrillic Cyrillic 1026 ISO 8859/9 Turkish 1097 Unicode Unicode 1112 Baltic Baltic 1122 Unicode Unicode 1140 to 1153 CodePage858 Western
If you e.g. have made a TTF setup, that works fine for code page 273 (german non-euro code page) and then change the code page for the merges into 1141, then you will need to install the TTF for ASCII codepage858 and set that up as well in auto download. If you forget it, the TTF will not be used for PCL output.
Re: Using TTF and barcode soft fonts for specific codepages
Thank you for the tip.
