When creating a new system in IceCap we've created some menu items, specified an initial command to call, and this works fine.

However when we use the "Program for loading menu" to generate a menu it seems the initial command is ignored.

Is this expected behaviour? If so is there a way of specifying the initial command from the menu loader program?

Thanks,

Craig

Hi Craig,

yes, it is expected behaviour.

You have to setup library list, etc. for the "Program for loading menu" yourself.

"Initial command to call" is called by the Virtuel terminal running the session for IceCap, to setup library list, etc., before calling the atually application in your back-end system.

Hi Claus,

Sorry I don't think I was clear with my explanation. I don't want the initial program to be called before the menu loader, I want it to be called before the menu item link is opened.

Basically I want it to work exactly the same as it does when you define menu items manually in the system.

Thanks,

Craig

David from spacetec has helped with this problem, the solution is to define the initial program along with the menu item link

icecap.aspx?func=call mypgm&initfunc=call mylib/setmylibl

It would be useful if this was added to the documentation, or even better if the system option was still used even with a program generated menu
