Using like() in webservice programs

Hi,

Do you support using the like keyword for webservice input parameters?

When I define an input variable as like a numeric database field, the program fails compilation, as the ReqXmlGetValue() call doesn't get wrapped in a num()

"The types of the right and left hand side do not match in the EVAL operation."

Thanks,

Upgrading IceBreak/IceCap

Hi,

Are there any things we should consider before installing a new version of IceBreak or IceCap?

I presume all our Systems/Menu Items in IceCap will be retained?

We've created a directory containing some code (/www/icecap/testcode), will this be left alone during the upgrade?

What about iceCap_config.xml? Will any changes made to this file be lost?

Thanks,
Craig

Initial command for IceCap, before execute link

When creating a new system in IceCap we've created some menu items, specified an initial command to call, and this works fine.

However when we use the "Program for loading menu" to generate a menu it seems the initial command is ignored.

Is this expected behaviour? If so is there a way of specifying the initial command from the menu loader program?

Thanks,

Craig

ILOB vs .asmx

Hi

Apologies for the noob question.

There are two ways that I know of to create a web service that provides an XML response:

  1. create a .asmx web service that defines a procedure whose input and output parameters are the input and output data elements in the XML
  2. use ILOBs in a .rpgle program

Option 1 is great because I can easily use something like soapUI to test the web service. Am I right in thinking that I can't use soapUI to test ILOB web services?

x-types in IceCap

Can anybody supply, or point me to examples or documantation, on the use of x-types in IceCap breakout programs. The examples in USEREMUL do not cover them all or provide sufficient documentation on how to use them.

Two immediate questions:

Can mult-column lists be created using DDSQL or DDSEARCH. And if so , how.

The is the format of the code to use 'BUTTON'

Also can I customise subfile columns in a breakout program to provide similar functionality to that shown in the supplied 'advanced' and 'icaped' examples.

ADMIN does not start

Hi,

Installed Icebreak, but cannot start ADMIN app server.

Uninstalled Icebreak, ran again, same problem. When I try to start the server thru the Icebreak menu, I get a CPF141 message in the job's log: Job 779779/BLUEBOXUSR/ADMIN ended normally.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
